What is in the Tucson Senior Advisor facility directory?

The directory lists all 53 ADHS-licensed assisted living centers and 257 assisted living homes in Pima County, the 296 of them licensed for directed (memory) care, 24 CMS-certified nursing homes, 29 hospices and 26 home health agencies, built only from ADHS and CMS bulk data.

Why does this directory show no ratings for Tucson assisted living?

Arizona publishes no star rating for assisted living centers or homes, so the directory shows what ADHS does publish: license number, service levels, licensed beds, license term, every inspection with ADHS's own statement of whether deficiencies were cited, and AZ Care Check's three-year enforcement list. Nursing homes carry the federal CMS Five-Star rating, shown labelled as CMS's.

How do inspection results look across Pima County?

Across all 310 licensed assisted living buildings, AZ Care Check lists 1,048 inspections, 540 of them with deficiencies cited; 136 of the 295 facilities with a rated inspection had no deficiencies cited at the most recent one, and 149 have at least one enforcement action in the last three years.

Which facilities are not in this directory?

Independent living communities without a care license, non-medical home care agencies, and adult foster care or behavioral health homes outside the assisted living categories are not in this directory, because they do not appear in the ADHS assisted living roster or the CMS datasets we use.

Continuing-care campuses appear through their licensed assisted living center or nursing home.

How should you use the directory to build a short list?

Filter by area and directed care, sort by latest inspection, open the AZ Care Check record for the few that remain, then call about openings and rates; the public data says nothing about vacancies or prices.

If you would rather not make those calls yourself, a local advisor can do it and report back.
